A Minneapolis Transformation

A transformation has been underway at the corner of 48th St E and Nicollet Ave in Minneapolis, and the end result is impressive. The brick building began as a mix of original brick, a mural, and faded greenish paint. While it may have once looked more inviting, over time it just seemed choppy and tired.

Today the corner building features a fresh paint job the brings the full building together into one fluid structure. The corner store, Prospect Refuge Studio then hired Acme Awning to complete the look with a new corner awning. Acme offered a number of design options for consideration, giving the customer an opportunity to chose what best represented the final look they were going for. The end result is an awning that accents the building’s paint in a subtle way, with the custom valance and graphics adding a touch of contrasting color. The building is inviting, modern and a welcome change for this Minneapolis neighborhood.
