Canopies & Graffiti at Dave’s Hot Chicken
Acme Awning recently had the opportunity to work with general contractor Strack Construction on a new Dave’s Hot Chicken located in Oak Park Heights, MN. The project included six hanging rod metal canopies. To protect drive thru customers, the canopy over the drive thru has self-mating flat soffit pans for a weather-tight finish. The other five canopies are louvered sunshades. These customized canopies were configured to meet design and building specifications while also keeping on budget. While we were pleased to work on this project, the story doesn’t end there. Dave’s Hot Chicken started in 2017 as a pop-up with portable fryers and folding tables in a parking lot in East Hollywood. Word spread and lines grew. Today, the restaurant is a national chain known for itss Nashville-style hot chicken and fun atmosphere. Keeping to its roots, each new Dave’s Hot Chicken location features custom graffiti that reflects both the brand and the local community. Acme Awning was able to capture a bit of the process (see the below video), and the final results are striking. More locations are opening in the Twin Cities and we are excited to see what the artists come up with!
